On Saturday 13th February 2010 Hamrun participated in the International Open for teams organized in Malta. Four teams participated in this competition, two of which were from Hamrun and the other two were Bormla and Attard. Hamrun and Bormla were favourites to win the competition. The competition was played as a league format. The direct encounter between the two favourites was the last match of the tournament. Till the much awaited match, both teams had obtained full points winning against Hamrun ‘B’ and Attard with the same results.

The match against Bormla was a close one. Ilai Zammit Marmara played George Ebejer, Stefan Pace played Josef Camilleri, Kenneth Attard played Christian Aquilina and Mark Zammit played Charlie Aquilina. Both teams had one regular first team player missing, Mario Camilleri for Hamrun and Jean Carl Tabone for Bormla. Ilai drew his match 1-1, Stefan drew 2-2, Kenneth won 2-1 and Mark drew 0-0 which ended with an overall win for Hamrun with a 1-0 score line!
