Ilai Zammit Marmara’ 0 Kenneth Attard 1 (HT 0-0) Kenneth started well keeping possession and trying to open the score, however it was Ilai that dominated the second part of the first half getting very close but Kenneth’s keeper kept the score 0-0. In the Second half, Kenneth found the winning goal 6 minutes from time and managed to also control the game leaving little opportunities for Ilai to press for the equiliser.
Patrick Pace 1 Alan Azzopardi 0 (HT 1-0) Patrick Pace with his usual style playing very calmly and maintaining most of the possession made it very hard for Alan to grab a point in this match. Patrick opened the score in the first half and kept possession throughout the whole match giving Alan little opportunities to create chances on goal. This win was vital for Patrick to get closer to the top four players of the league.
Alan Azzopardi 3 Mario Camilleri 4 (HT 1-2) By far the most entertaining game of the season so far! The sequence of the score was as follows: 1-0, 1-1, 1-2, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4. Mario superb equalizer (3-3) was a sensational goal showing his typical fighting spirit that proved to be vital in this match to obtain al the points from this match. One must congratulate Alan for his performance in this match showing that he is not easy player to beat.
Ilai Zammit Marmara’ 1 Alan Azzopardi 1 (HT 0-0) One of the derby’s of the season with 2 close friends that started the game at the same age ended in a 1-1 draw. In the first half, Ilai had more possession but could not finalise. However, in the second half, Ilai opened the score with a splendid first time shot that left no chance for Alan’s keeper to save. Alan equalised 2 minutes from time with a lob. Ilai did not have enough time to search for the winner. This was the first and well deserved point Alan earned this season, adding how rightful was the article by Mario Camilleri regarding players like Alan that can grab vital points against players challenging for the league.
