Match Reports - Saturday 5th November 2005
Published: 05/11/2005
Mario Camilleri 5 Matthew Sapiano 2 (HT 1-0)
The first chance on goal came to Matthew after keeping the possession for the first few minutes, remaining very calm on each flick. Unfortunately for Matthew he was not effective in front of goal loosing a couple of easy scoring opportunities. Mario found the net with seven minutes from the end of the first half and kept improving in the second half scoring a great goal from an effective through ball through the center from his defense. Mario made sure of the 3 points adding two more goals to make it 4-0. With 3 minutes remaining, Matthew pulled one back with a powerful shot but was not enough to stop Mario from scoring another goal to make it 5-1. In the last seconds of the match Matthew scored another goal to make the final score 5-2.
Mario Camilleri 7 Joseph Bugeja 1 (HT 2-0)
In this match, Mario played very fast and did not give Joseph any chance to block his attacks. As the score speaks for itself, Mario was at his best. On the other hand, Joseph should reflect on this result to try and concentrate and improve his defense and keep more possession of the ball to try and slow the opposition’s pace when playing against a fast playing opponent. This day proved vital for Mario acquiring 2 excellent wins to get him closer to the top of the standings.
