2005/2006 Preview
Published: 01/09/2005
Season 2005/2006 is about to flick-off at the end of September. Looking at this season’s participants indicates the season to be very interesting. Everyone agrees upon that, we are in for a number of shocking and surprising final scores.
With the majority of the player’s levels being at par, with the exception of (World ranked no2) Massimo Cremona and newly comers (an absence for quite a while) Mark Zammit and Simon Spiteri, any match can go either way. When it comes to direct clashes, the odds of each match are going to be a close tie. All the players will be looking forward to the Saturday afternoon fixtures. This will give the club’s Fixture Organizer Mr. Ilai Zammit Marmara’ a headache at the end of each league day, due to the changes in the table standings.
The enthusiasm has already built-up following the success of the Summer Cup. Sportsmanship and fair play never lack in such league. Although everyone races against time, respect towards each other is a positive attitude.
All the games will be played at Ta’ Qali (Basketball Pavilion) on Saturday afternoons from 1pm onwards. As from day 1, I will fill you in with comments of the protagonists, opinions and previews. Game after game this league will heat up till the last second of play of the final match.
Wish you luck guys.
